The Golden Rule

Do onto others, what has been done to you. Sounds reasonable, but is it really?

Should I cast suffering onto someone, just because they did to me? Should I wish pain upon someone, because they wished it on me?

Is life a zero-sum game? Is life about returning what was done onto you? Because if that is the case, then I or You are no longer in control of what we call life here. The person doing things to us, towards us has control over us.

We are nothing more, than mere slaves to them. We no longer have our own actions, all we do is reaction. This is a pitiful state to be in. This is where The Golden Rule comes in. A poem from my school time:

What is the Golden Rule? The rule of righteous men: If evil is done unto you, Return thou good again, This is the Golden Rule.

While observing people around me, my own self, my behavior, the way I have treated people in the past, the way I have started and put an end to relationships is nowhere close to this golden rule.
