• Drug repositioning, which concerns the identification and development of new therapeutic uses for existing drugs, has emerged as a noteworthy alternative to the traditional drug development.

• The aim of computational drug repositioning is to find novel indications for existing drugs and apply the newly identified drugs to the treatment of diseases other than the drugs’ originally in- tended ones
